Fatal Slip in New Spider-Man Movie!

It is apparent to me that there was some big secret yet kept from viewers contained within Columbia Picture's latest blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. They left a single clue, just one, that only very detail-oriented observers would pick up on.
For those of you who have seen the movie, I shall explain. Don't worry, no spoilers. When young Peter Parker (Garfield) searches for clues to his parents' mysterious disappearence twelve or so years ago, he comes across a Web page about Dr Curtis Conners, featuring a photo of him with the caption Updated yesterday. But when Parker reads Conners' book, he sees the same picture on the back cover. If that photo had been taken "yesterday," then exactly how was it on the back cover of a book? Well, this is the secret that shall be revealed in the next movie: Curt Conners is a time traveller! Yes, that is the only explanation as to this mysterious picture cropping up many times in the movie. He is a time traveller, and there's nothing you can do to stop it!

My new favourite thing

So my new favourite thing to do is write a two-sided conversation, then record one side of it, then play it back while filling in the other side. No, I did not get that idea from Blink, that episode of Doctor Who Series Four. No really, I didn't. No really. No really. No. really.

Peter

So, I've always wondered exactly how search engines work. I know they search for the words that you type in, but is it by how many times a certain Web page mentions that word? For instance, if you type Amor et Oceanus into the Google search bar, then the first two entries will be my blog. But if you wrote a certain word, Peter, for example (don't ask why), hundreds of times on your site, would your site then be the first entry if you type Peter into a search bar? Let's test it out.

Deep Thoughts...

Isn't there something deeply satisfying and calming about the way a Preview sphere looks when its Specular has been set to 0.00?

Awesome, right?

So, I'd just like to mention that Scarlett Johanson, who starred in this year's Avengers said specifically that she would be in a movie based on my father's book The Only Life that Mattered if a major director was involved. I'm hoping for J.J. Abrams or Steven Speilberg.

Hey Peeps!

Hey Peeps! (Very repetetetetetetetetetive, aren't I?) Everyone go and check out the totally awesome page entitled Musica de Nathaniel. It's, like, totally awesome. And I just said that. Anyways, I'm an aspiring musician and songwriter, and I've written twenty-eight or so songs. So, if you want to be able to play one of them, which you don't, um...read my page.

Good Books!

So, like, this "trilogy" (there's five books) I just discovered is like the awesomest ever. It's, like, the awesomest ever even without the "like." So, you people...go buy these books. Don't steal them. You can steal a song on Listentoyoutube.com, but if you even think of stealing one of these books, digital or not, I will...un-follow you. If you can even do that.

Hey! It makes a whole picture! I never noticed that before...okay, so I did. And maybe that picture does look a Hell of a lot like the one hanging in my parent's bedroom, and yes, if any of you were to buy one of these books, I suppose it may make my family eight pounds or so richer...but hey, gas is expensive! (And yes, there are two more books, entitled Lords of the Ocean and All the Brave Fellows, which happens to be dedicated to me...just sayin'...and I'm currently 3/4 of the way through with The Maddest Idea.)

Hey I'm back...again

Hey peeps! I just got back from a weekend-long Catholic retreat called Convention...it was so awesome! I re-met some peoples who I met a while ago at another retreat and they didn't recognise me, until I said "Hey I know you!" and they thought about it for a long time, then later they stopped me and said, "Okay. We need to establish where we've met you before." So we did. Anyways, it was like one big Catholic party with Journey and Katy Perry and all the good secular stuff too....

Alrighty...

Well, the last sixty-odd days of my life were pretty strange...not to mention that latest post, which, as was stated in the aforementioned broadcast of the happenings in my life, written on my local library (The Curtis Memorial)'s elderly computger, which I estimate is a Windows 2000. It's so slow it takes about ten seconds for a single letter that you type to appear on the screen, so by the time my mispellings are rendered visible by the aforementioned piece of junk, my mind has reverted to occupying its current thinking cells with other structural components of the message which I attempt to rely to all those who might be demented enough to enjoy the sort of stuff which is penned at my fingertips. Gosh, I sound like my Grandpa.

Also, a big, warm welcome to my newest follower, our very own prodigal daughter Susana, who was returned to us after many-a month blocking us all from her blog. Let us all go and follow her!!

Okay, So I Posted Aomething from my Phone to this Effect around Midnight Last Saturday But I can See it Didn't Send...

Really descriptive title, huh? Anyways, Lent is overr, and, because I'm me, as soon as I was done needing to fast I got seriously ill and couldn't feast with all the other Catholics....And I see I now have three followers,  but I can't see who the third is, because I'm on my local library's public computer and it's really slow and irritating. But, woever you are, welcome!

Here it is Once Again

Here it is once again (as you may have realised from the title); tomorrow is, in the  Catholic church, "Fat Tuesday," making the day after Ash Wednesday, making it Lent. And this Lent, for the first time, I've decided to give up all computers. Totally. And utterly. And completely. As you might be able to tell, it won't be easy. But I am determined...kind of. So this will be a test of your powers of Bloggerism. Will all...two of you be able to return to regular commenting on my blog after fifty-odd days? Hester? MeshWeaver? You are the only two of my fourteen ex-followers who survived last Lent. And I promise, after Easter, I will look and comment on all your posts you posted in my absense. See you after Easter!!

How to Play Journey of the Sorceror on Piano

I know I ussaly have short, concise, and descriptive (Julian Smith reference) post titles, but I'm hoping that this blog will appear when one Googles that very phrase (Apologies, Yahoo!).

Let me just begin by saying that "Journey of the Sorcerer" is my favorite theme music of all time, and that goes nicely with the fact that it's the theme (though not originally) of my favorite franchise of all time: The H2G2, or The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I believe this is an easy-to-follow link and an easy-to-download .pdf file, but tell me if it's not...

Also, remember that I wrote it out like it was using all the "middle" keys, but it's precisely one octave higher in real life. And I figured it out by myself, so it may not be perfect...but since I've got it permanently stuck in my head, you can be pretty sure I know a thing or two about this theme.

New Stuf!

I am so psyched about the new "speaker" capability in Blender 2.6 alpha 1! It is so awesome, and I cannot tell you how valuable it will be in The H2G2 in LEGO. I will now have to do no sound editing (apart from cutting out the bits where he takes the Lord's name in vain and uses words like-gasp-Belgium!

Hi there!

Just checking up and saying hi...at a friend's house; he's playing MineCraft and I'm blogging. Obviously. BTW, I just rendered a twelve-second long animation for the intro to the H2G2-5. It's not in the movie, but it's very funny, if I do say so myself. But I got a question for you guys. It's 200 frames long, and I rendered it at 23.98 fps. But when I watch it in QuickTime, it cuts some of it out. Any advice?

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell... (Read the below post first!)

After a night spent pizza-ing and Hitchhiker-ing, and a 12:00-6:30 spent talking and Simpson-ing, all the Sea Scouts slowly drifted to bed, but not me! I stayed awake, and, having nothing to do awake, I turned to what I usually turn to in my time of need: The computer. Morespecifically, my sister's red Dell laptop, which has been through thick and thin with me: From the deserts of Nevada to the deserts of Utah to the deserts of Arizona to the frozen deserts of Maine.
So, yeah, I decided to open Blender 2.54 and build a Pokemon Magnetite like MeshWeaver always does, but it turns out I've gotten a little rusty on my Pokemon stuff since age ten. I still haven't gotten around to selling my cards on eBay. So I decided, since animating the H2G2-5 always gets me irritable, to make Marvin. not LEGO Marvin, not even the cute, white plastic Marvin we (meaning I) all know from the 2005 movie, but the real, classic 1981 BBC TV series Marvin. Half an hour later, he's finished.

I took this...

...And turned it into this!
So, yeah, just wanted to convey to you that boredom is the best motivator.

Aych! (Eye-ch)

Would anyone like to guess who, what, when, where, and why, I am? The Who is three Sea Scouts, one of them my sister, the What is a red Dell laptop and an iota of Wi-Fi, the When is 5:40 AM on January fifteenth, 2012, the Where is the Maine Maritime Museum, the most haunted place in Southern Maine, and the Why is because it's so damn fun!!!
Yes, it's true, we were meant to go to bed at 2:00 AM, but after watching The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (by a curious coincidence) and Crossroads, we wanted more. More! So we snuck onto YouTube and watched The Simpsons Movie. When that was finished, it was 4:00, and we had no intentions of going to sleep (except one of us, who had to go to college in the morning), so we broke out the laptops, the FaceBook, the AngryBirds, the PenguinSlash, and the Google Chrome! And I'm hoping to go around the Interwebs recruting followers after I'm done posting. So...yeah. I'm done posting.

InterWebs!!

My dad and I finally got the Internet up and working on our Windows Vista®, so I'll be able to post a lot more than I have been. This is the first step of re-building a thriving blog!
